Purebred Breeders reviews an unusual candidate in this week’s article, this nine-year-old canine, Uggie, starred in the silent movie The Artist and is the center of a campaign to acknowledge animals’ talents in film and for them to be elgible for Oscars. Even Steven Spielbierg has joined this movement, as he believes Joey, the English horse that stars in his latest movie War Horse should have a chance as well.
The campaign encouraging this is called ‘Consider Uggie’, and you can find them on both Facebook and Twitter, as they motivate the inclusion of Uggie’s achievements amongst the February 24 Oscar awards that are to take place in Los Angeles.
“He is a real actor, I don’t care what anybody says. He deserves an Oscar more than anybody I know,” said Oscar Von Muller, a supporter of the movement. It is speculated that The Artist is aimed to take best picture at the Oscars.
Purebred Breeders reviews current events every week, but today we want to know if you think Uggie should have a chance? Is he just doing it for the sausages like many have said or is he really an actor?
